About me
I was born in Bilbao, with both Italian and Spanish roots, and grew up between the United States, France, and the United Kingdom. Eight years ago, Rome adopted me — and ever since, it has truly felt like home.
Photography has always been a part of me. I was that little girl who carried a camera everywhere, afraid of forgetting the people and moments that mattered. Over time, I realized that capturing memories wasn’t just something I needed for myself but something I wanted to do for others, too. That’s how my way of telling stories began: with care, attention, and heart.
I speak six languages and offer my services in four of them: Italian, Spanish, English, and French. Basque, the ancient language of my homeland, is part of my roots, and I’m currently learning Arabic. I truly believe that communication is connection, and being able to tell your story in your own language is, to me, an essential part of the magic.

Fun facts about me
My name is Haizea — it means “wind” in Basque, the ancient language of my homeland. I know it’s not the easiest name to pronounce, but don’t worry, I’ll gladly repeat it as many times as needed! If it helps, it sounds a bit like “Isaiah” in English.
I speak six languages: Spanish, English, Italian, French, and Basque — and in my spare time, I’m learning Arabic.
I spent my last year of high school in the United States, in Iowa, surrounded by more cornfields than I could count. Exactly as you’d imagine a small town in the heart of the Midwest!
I dance salsa, bachata, and kizomba, and I’ve been practicing martial arts since I was five years old.
I have a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in International Relations and Human Rights. Beyond photographing the world, I’m passionate about understanding it and working to make it a better place.

Why I do this?
Time moves fast, too fast, and one day, all we’ll have left of a moment is the way it made us feel. I photograph to build a time capsule for others, something they can return to years from now. A way to step back into a season of life, to remember what it felt like to stand in that place, hear that voice, feel that love. I want my work to transport people to a moment that might otherwise fade with time.
Photography allows me to do that. It’s not just a creative outlet but a responsibility. As a photographer, I see myself as a keeper of memories, trusted with the sacred task of holding onto what matters most when time inevitably moves on. And that truth gives this work meaning far beyond the technical.
I approach every story with deep curiosity and a reverence for time. I pay attention and I search for the moments that would otherwise go unnoticed, the ones that often mean the most later on. I don’t chase trends or perfection in every single image. I chase truth. Connection. Emotion. The kind of images that become heirlooms.
Being invited into someone’s most intimate moments, whether it’s a wedding, a proposal, or a quiet session between two people in love, is something I don’t take lightly. I show up with an open heart, not just to document, but to witness. To honor. To create something that will matter for generations.
This work continues to shape me, not just as an artist, but as a human. It reminds me what matters most: presence, love, vulnerability, and the beautiful, fleeting chaos of being alive.

How I work
I love spontaneity and prefer a blend of reportage style with guided portraits: authentic emotions combined with gentle direction to bring out your best self. I believe the most beautiful stories are the ones truly lived, and my job is to preserve them authentically.
That’s why I focus on the real, unplanned moments — the quiet glances, the loud laughs, the in-betweens — to tell your story exactly as it happened, including the unfiltered moments that matter most.
