Marriage proposal in Rome: a secret corner with a dream view
Rome is full of wonderful corners, we know. But there is one – only one – that for me has something more. A place suspended between sky and domes, hidden in the center but away from the confusion, with a view that takes my breath away every time, even to me who return there often.
It is there that I accompany couples who want to experience an intimate, exciting, true marriage proposal. And every time, while I photograph from afar with my heart in my throat, I feel that that place really manages to tell the story of love in its purest moment.
You won’t find it on Instagram, nor in travel blogs. But that’s the beauty of it.
A hidden corner with a dreamlike view
From the vantage point you can see all of Rome in a single glance: the domes chasing each other, the honey-colored roofs, the bells ringing in the distance. It’s one of those places that make you stay silent, because words are not enough.
Although it is a stone’s throw from the historic center, it is quiet and not very busy. And this makes it perfect for those looking for an intimate moment, away from curious eyes. When the city begins to turn golden, the light becomes soft and everything around seems to stop. I call it “my little suspended theater“. And every proposal I photograph there has something cinematic about it.
The thing I love most about this place is that it knows how to take care of feelings. People relax, open up, get excited.
When a proposal starts there, it’s as if everything takes place in a bubble. He kneels, she holds her breath, her hands tremble, her eyes sparkle. I photograph everything from afar, on tiptoe, so as not to break the enchantment.
It is not just a beautiful view: it is a welcoming space. And he does it every time, with delicacy.
A stone's throw from the center, but far from the world
Another reason why I choose it often? It is just minutes away from some of Rome’s most iconic squares. After the proposal, we easily move for a photo session among fountains, historical views and dreamy alleys.
But that first moment, up there, remains unique. A beat out of time. And every couple I take there tells me the same thing: “We couldn’t have imagined a more perfect place.” (Spoiler: I repeat it to myself every time.)
My little secret (which I cherish with love)
You won’t find this place on Instagram, nor on the pages of a travel guide. It is one of those places that I choose to keep only for those who live a very special moment with me.
In a world where everything is shared, photographed, tagged… I like that this corner remains a little secret. A place to discover calmly, to live on tiptoe, to keep in the heart.
