I met this wonderful couple from New Orleans and from the very beginning, I knew their proposal would be something special. As a Rome-based photographer, I had the privilege of quietly documenting one of the most important moments of their lives, letting the city become part of their story. Little did I know they would be bringing me to New Orleans a year after to capture their wedding!
A Surprise Proposal in Trastevere, by the Iconic Green Door
Trastevere is one of Rome’s most romantic neighborhoods, known for its ivy-covered buildings, cobblestone streets, and hidden corners that feel untouched by time.
The proposal took place in front of one of Trastevere’s most iconic details: the famous green door, a spot loved for its timeless charm and intimate atmosphere. I captured the proposal discreetly, allowing the moment to remain authentic and deeply personal.
A Romantic Walk Through Trastevere’s Streets
After the proposal, we continued with a relaxed walk through Trastevere. This part of the session was all about celebrating. No rush, no posing, just the two of them enjoying the moment.
Laughter filled the narrow streets as they walked hand in hand, with Rome as the backdrop.
These are the moments that really matter in a session: the natural gestures, the shared smiles, and the happiness that comes right after a “yes.”
When the Rain Turned Into Magic
As the evening went on, the weather changed and soft rain began to fall over Rome. Instead of stopping, we embraced it.
The wet cobblestones reflected the warm city lights, creating an incredibly cinematic atmosphere. The rain added movement and emotion, turning the session into something truly unique. As a photographer, moments like these are a reminder that unexpected elements often create the most powerful images.
